Description of Location: In order to realize the concept of development in the context of the state's Culture, tradition, Archeology, environment and life-creation, the construction work of the Purkhouti Muktangan started and the traditional artists of the state resolved to shape it as cultural heritage.
Purkhauti Muktangan is an open museum, developed by Chhattisgarh department of Culture, under the Ministry of Tourism by Chhattisgarh Government.Purkhauti means "of or related to out ancestors".
In the premises of this ambitious project of the state, the resolution of constructing craft grams by planting traditional plants in the hands of the Honorable Chief Minister was taken. Bastar and Raigarh districts of Chhattisgarh are popular for crafting bell metal handicrafts using brass, and bronze. Tribes like ‘Ghawas’ of Bastar and ‘Jharas’ of Raigarh mainly practice this art form, also known as Dhokra art. This is done with lost wax technique or hollow casting.
