Uttarakhand winning in the category of Most Film-Friendly State makes sense, as it has played an important role in some of the most popular films over the years. Scenic locations that make for perfect filming spot for Bollywood are many including Binsar, Dhanaulti, Kausani, Mukteshwar, Tehri, Jageshwar Temple, Pauri, and many more. Over the year, Bollywood directors have been scouting for realistic locations for their films and give their script realistic touches. The notable trend that has been noticed among big-budget films lately has been to provide that prominent local touches, i.e., in the form of script and incorporating dialects. Numerous films shot in Uttarakhand have shown lead actors adopting the mannerisms of the locals, like inBatti Gul, audiences saw Shraddha Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor depicted as Garhwalis. On similar lines,Student of the Year 2 was shot in Mussoorie and Dehradun, wherein Tiger Shroff plays a localpahadi boy. Similarly, the movie Kedarnath was shot in the shrine town, in which Sushant Singh Rajput plays the role of a local porter and speaks the local dialect too. Uttarakhand has, over the years, become one of the favourite film locations for Bollywood, and this award is expected to bring cheers to both the audience and the locals too. State of Uttarakhand is given a Special Mention Certificate to recognize the efforts made by the State of Uttarakhand towards creating a film friendly environment. Thus, the Jury recommends that state of uttarakhand should be given a special mention certificate.
