Alibaug is the headquarter of Raigad district developed in the 17th century by Sarkhel Kanhoji Aangre. It is primarily known for series of beaches such as Alibaug, Nagaon, Akshi, Mandva, Kihim, Varsoli, etc. and water sports activities. The town also houses the Alibaug fort, also known as Kulaba Fort and is in close proximity to Kandheri and Undheri Island.
